This is an ANTIQUE c.1901 – KELLOGG TIGER OAK GRAIN with a Cathedral Top, Picture Frame Style Front and Magneto Crank wall phone with a vintage smooth action Rotary Dial. The phone is literally 110 YEARS OLD and for the age in very nice condition with only a few minor flaws. On the angle oak writing platform is a built in Western Electric rotary dial mounted in the wood. The phone is wired with the earlier wire leads as pictured. I was not able to physically test this phone so I don’t know if the phone works. I was told the phone does work. The rotary dial apparently did not come with the original phone and has been retrofitted to use as a wall phone.
The front mouthpiece has the markings:
KELLOGGCHICAGO U.S.A.PAT’D NOV. 26, 1901NO. 163138-L
The inside arm holding the ear piece has the marking:
PAT’D JULY 15.02
The earpiece end has the marking:
KELLOGG S&S CO. CHICAGO U.S.A.
The phone is in very nice condition. The lower angle wood writing platform has what appears to be some water marks which may or may not come out with wood oil. The mouthpiece metal round area has some discoloration, but for the age I would expect this. The pictures are high resolution and if you click on any of the pictures within the auction itself they will open in a new screen and actual size of 5MP. Please ask any questions prior to bidding. Everything I know about this phone is listed and the sale is AS IS and only because of the telephone age. The phone has been double boxed for protection and extremely heavy weighing over 30 pounds. The authenitc antique – vintage Kellogg Oak Telephone is in AS PICTURED – AS DESCRIBED CONDITION.
