THE ITEM IS DESIGNED TO HAVE THAT KIND OF OLD WEST OR TURN OF THE CENTURY LOOK TO IT. THIS ITEM WOULD BE HUNG ON THE WALL OVER A WALL MOUNTED PHONE OR A VINTAGE PAYPHONE AND YOU WOULD OPEN THE CABINET TO ACCESS THE PHONE. THE ITEM HAS THE WORDS PUBLIC PHONE OF THE FRONT AND A MIRRORED SIGN WITH AN ANTIQUE STYLE 5 CENT IMAGE ON IT. THE ENCLOSURE MEASURES APPROX 38" HIGH X 13" WIDE X 8" DEEP. IT IS IN FAIR TO GOOD CONDITION AND WOULD LOOK REALLY GOOD IF IT WAS CLEANED AND MAYBE RE STAINED OR REPAINTED. YOU CAN SEE IT SHOWS SOME DIRT AND WEAR AND I HAVE NOT MADE ANY ATTEMPT TO CLEAN THE ITEM. THERE IS A LITTLE SEPARATION OF THE WOOD NEAR THE TOP, BUT I BELIEVE YOU CAN EASILY TAP IN A NEW NAIL AND TIGHTEN THAT UP. Telephone—Ultimate in ART DECO Style Bakelite - To be hung on the wall. Brings Elegance, Charm and Beauty to your Home. The perfect gift: make someone happy with this phone, can not be found in a store comes just for you.This unit was produced by FACE in Milan in March 1953 with the symbol 99221A and was given in Italian utilities to use until the late 80's.

The phone is in its original state has been cleaned, disinfected and edited in my laboratory telephony works and will continue to operate for many years to come. Very nice example of a Vintage Western Electric Candlestick Wall Phone from around 1918, TYPE 296 A.

Came from the Estate of a previous Bell Telephone Collector may be in working condition.

It is all origional Marked in front "WESTERN ELECTRIC CO. Patented See Details Inside" All the Patent dates are listed Inside front door, it is marked "TYPE 296 A" on the back and inside the front door. The box measres 9" by 6 1/2". The mouthpiece is marked "PROPERTY OF AMERICAN TEL & TEL CO."

Antique Western Electric Oak Magneto Wall Phone

Offered here, is an original Western Electric dovetailed oak wall phone. It features a W.E. 5 bar magneto generator with crank handle that turns freely and rings the bells. Includes ringer assembly, black bells & wiring harness. It also has included(not attached) a complete transmitter assembly and switchhook assembly. All other components look to be there. The backboard is 10 1/2 inches tall x 7 1/2 inches wide. The cabinet itself is 10 inches tall x 7 inches wide x 3 3/4 inches deep.

A Western Electric label is on top of the magneto.
